On Monday night, 31st October, Carnal<\/a> celebrates “D\u00eda de los Muertos” with a DJ set, exclusive cocktails and a few more surprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To commemorate this Mexican day of celebration, to the pieces of our artist Carlito Dalceggio<\/a>, we have added skulls and skeletons that certainly will not resist dancing to the sound of “Mexican oldies” from the record collection of DJ El Pinela<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the cocktails served exclusively on this night, with tequila Patr\u00f3n seal, our bartenders are ready to make the cocktails on the menu<\/a>, created by the head bartender, Jo\u00e3o Sancheira, based on tequila and mezcal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the kitchen led by executive chef Luis Ortiz, there will be tacos and quesadillas<\/a>, but also traditional Mexican dishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Day of the Dead (El D\u00eda de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday in which families gather to celebrate and remember the life of the departed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Legend has it that on this day the dead wake up from their “eternal sleep” and come to celebrate with their family, eat, drink, dance and play music. Therefore, during this celebration these relatives are honoured with “ofrendas” (offerings) on small altars, filled with the food and drink they most enjoyed in life, as well as some personal objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most popular symbols of this day are skeletons and skulls, but it is common for everyone to dress up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a day of celebration, seen as an opportunity to see family members again, read letters, poems and tell jokes about the deceased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This day is celebrated in different parts of the world, and serves as an opportunity to look at death positively, with joy instead of sadness, as a natural part of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that’s  what we’re all going to do at Carnal: celebrate! Life, ourselves and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doors open at 6pm, but the party goes on until 2am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
