100 is 50 Best Discovery
“Serbian-born chef Ljubomir Stanisic developed his rock-star reputation with dishes that marry the fiery flavours of his homeland with Atlantic treasures”. This is how the text that justifies the (glorious :)) entry of 100 in the 50 Best Discovery begins.
The project, launched last November by the organization of The World’s 50 Best, brings together restaurants and bars from around the world that, throughout the year, won the votes of the Academy members, but whose total does not yet allow them to be placed in the top places. Currently, the Academy’s membership group comprises more than a thousand international industry experts, bringing together critics, food writers, restaurateurs and well-traveled gourmets from around the world. The organization also points out that in order to qualify for the 50 Best Discovery, a restaurant “needs to receive a significant number of votes in the most recent round of polling for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants”, and that “restaurants and bars cannot apply to be part of 50 Best Discovery”. In Lisbon, there are only 8 other restaurants sharing this distinction.
Just 9 months after its opening (28.2.19), the new restaurant of the 100 Maneiras group ends 2019 in the best possible way. In shades of green. Green for sustainability, yes, but for hope above all. To kick off 2020 in style!
