Bistro: more time, more flavors
First, we decided to open every day of the week. Then we anticipated the opening thirty minutes. But that wasn’t enough… We wanted more. That is why, since May, we decided to open the doors of Bistro 100 Maneiras every day, from noon to 02 a.m. It is an uninterrupted service, without breaks, with (almost) 100 options. With different menus for the different hours of the day, and different offers for all type of customers, for any type of moods. For those who are looking for a light and quick meal on their lunch break, or for those who want to know the biggest successes of Bistro under the world-famous light of Lisbon, it’s the perfect meeting between hunger and the will to eat (and drink), in the heart of Chiado.
So, from noon to 3 p.m., the tables of Bistro will be served with “All that Light”. A menu that shines with the classics of the house, but also with some of the seasonal dishes that are included in the dinner menu and exclusive options for lunch. That’s the case of the four new salads created by the team headed by Ljubomir Stanisic, for those looking for a lighter and fresh meal and with the seasoning that characterize the most-Portuguese-Yugoslavian-chef-ever.
In the menu, we can still find weekly suggestions, depending on what the market offers and what the chef likes, in the section “Ready, Set, Go!”. For those who can’t or don’t want to wait for dinner time, for those who have never been here before or have been too much, it is also suggested a short trip through some of the most striking flavors of this restaurant, which was number 1 in Monocle Restaurant Awards 2017 – and which, in 2018, occupies the third place in the world, being the only Portuguese representative in the top 10: a tasting menu dubbed “Stanisic’s List”, which includes three starters, a main course and a dessert.
Everything sprouts in the spring. That’s why our cocktail bar, named Best Bar in a Restaurant in the national edition of the 2017 Coaster Awards (awards presented annually in the final of the World Class competition, the most prestigious cocktails competition in the world) also offers a refreshed cocktail list. The team led by Jorge Camilo has developed five new non-alcohol creations, based in the fruit and herbs of the season, as well as two new blends that, although they have alcohol, are more appropriate to business afternoons – or a pilgrimage to Lisbon.
If the option is not to leave, then into the Matinee we go! From 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Bistro also becomes a place to snack, drink a glass (or more) or simply to shelter – from the sun, from the others, from the views… In the afternoon, the key word is “sharing “And the suggestions are delicious, both at the table and in the glass, with cocktails with and without alcohol, with little or much alcohol, fruity, sweet, citrus, smoked, and even homemade kombucha, for who already knows what is and who wants discover the almost miraculous effects of this fermented drink… The idea is to go out in broad daylight confusing the stones of the sidewalk or with force to climb all the hills of the city!
