TEMPORARILY CLOSED
Although, at the time we make this decision, there is no indication from the Portuguese Government for the closure of restaurants, 100 Maneiras and Bistro 100 Maneiras will be closed from tomorrow, March 15, 2020, with no date scheduled for reopening.
In Lisbon for 11 years, this is the first time that we will close our doors instead of opening it… It is a difficult but unequivocal decision: we cannot, in good conscience, remain open.
We feel that we have to do everything in our power to protect the families – ours, those of our team, those of our customers – and the world!
It is a decision that we make alone, without support, without aid, without a network, with the notion that the financial blow that we will suffer may take a long time to heal.
It is a decision that we take with a tight but light heart because we know that we are doing the right thing, that at the moment there is no other solution.
We act before it’s too late. We hope that official aid will arrive, too, before it is too late. We want to continue to feed the more than 80 families that depend on 100 Maneiras. We have a huge responsibility towards them and it is for them, too, that we make this decision: to send them home, to their families, so that, together, we can contain this new virus and recover our lives.
It was to our teams, too, that we gave all food products that we can’t storage: so that at this time of hoarding of essential products they have one less concern and can take better care of themselves.
We hope to meet again soon, as we always have, without fear of hugs, without fear of kisses, sharing food, glasses and laughter at the same table.
Until then, stay safe, stay at home, be responsible, generous and supportive of each other. Don’t let fear destroy the greatness of the human spirit.
Even at a distance, we will not let this virus separate us. During this period, our vouchers will continue to be available for purchase, via phone, email or online, with an extra credit of 15% on the registered value, so that they can be used later, when “normality” returns.
In our social media, we will share new content to keep us connected to each other, such as literally “homemade” food and cocktail recipes, made by our chefs and bar team from the safety of their homes, to make this quarantine easier to endure. Because we believe that together we are stronger.
Let’s stop this beautiful country from going down the drain! 🥊✨
