Lisbon Food Week seasoned by 100 Maneiras
A dinner where Cabidela Transmontana takes the leading role, a talk between “Women with tomatoes” who discuss their place in gastronomy: this is how 100 Maneiras signs its participation in this year’s Lisbon Food Week.
From November 3 to 13, the event organized by Edições do Gosto comes to Lisbon with a series of initiatives, including restaurants routes, talks, dinners, book presentations and, of course, the 13th edition of Cooks’ Congress, held in Nov. 11 – 13, which, this year, also includes the “Meeting with Wine and Flavors”.
Part of Lisbon Food Week, the first moment with the mark of 100 Maneiras takes place on November 4, at 8:30 pm, at Cozinha Popular da Mouraria, where our executive chef, Vítor Adão, promises to take participants on a journey through his memories. Recalling the dinners in Trás-os-Montes that used to spread through the night, in tables full of food and stories, the chef takes the same spirit of sharing to Mouraria, in an evening made by friends (with chefs Manuel Maldonado and Salar Kayhan, from 100 Maneiras, also in the kitchen) to be enjoyed amongst friends. The menu, with a cost of 30 euros per person, includes the couvert, ”cozido” broth with pig’s ear and chickpeas, Cabidela from Trás-os-Montes (blood rice) and “A minha aletria” (“my vermicelle”), as well as water, wines and coffee. The dinner has the support of Monte da Ravasqueira, Arroz Bom Sucesso and Amicis Gin and reservations can be made by phone (926520568) or email (vitorhadao@gmail.com).
On November 9th, it is women – or rather, “women with tomatoes” – who will take over the stage at the Ribeira Market. Starting at 6:00 pm, 7 women of reference in the world of Gastronomy, Wine and Bar come together to share their stories and experiences on the feminine perspective of a world where male presence still prevails. Moderating the talk will be Mónica Franco, communication and image consultant of 100 Maneiras, journalist with more than 2 decades of career, author of three published books and documentary filmmaker. The panel includes chef Marlene Vieira, Constança Cordeiro (barmaid), Ana Carrilho (responsible for the olive oils of Esporão), Rita Nabeiro (CEO of Adega Mayor Wines), Graça Saraiva (consultant on biodiversity and founder of Ervas Finas), Alexandra Prado Coelho (gastronomic journalist at Público) and Maria Canabal (international journalist and president of the Parabere Forum). Entries are free but places are limited, with reservations available here.
