Bistro is nominated once again for Best Restaurant Bar
Bistro’s Bar is once again nominated for Best Restaurant Bar at the Lisbon Bar Show Awards, after winning the same title last year and in 2019.
In addition to this nomination, the awards that will be presented in May this year and relate to 2023 also include João Sancheira, former bar manager at 100 Maneiras group, in the finalists for Best Bartender, for his work as head of Bistro’s and Carnal’s bars.
Now in the hands of Bruno Fernandes, João Franco and Rafael Vairinhos, the group’s bars continue the legacy of more than a decade of cocktails made in 100 Maneiras, maintaining its core philosophy – a gastronomic approach to classic mixology, using ingredients in the cocktails that come from the kitchen – but reinventing themselves over time. This philosophy has, over the years, not only given rise to books – 100 Cocktails 100 Maneiras, published in 2015 by A Esfera dos Livros, or the chapter dedicated to our cocktails in the book Bistromania – No Bistro Como em Casa – as it has given Bistro’s Bar awards such as the title of Best Restaurant Bar in Portugal at the Coaster 2017 awards or the aforementioned Lisbon Bar Show awards, as well as the reference, by Monocle, as “the perfect place to have a drink at the end of the day in Lisbon”.
Scheduled for the 14th and 15th of May 2024, the Lisbon Bar Show is one of the biggest Bar and Hospitality events in the Iberian Peninsula, bringing together, in Lisbon, some of the most renowned names in the area, for lectures, exchange of experiences and demonstrations. The awards, given by a sector jury, are some of the most important in the cocktail business in Portugal.
