24 days of 100 Maneiras Christmas
Christmas is whenever we want and this year we want it for 24 days. With a non-stop party in the three restaurants of the 100 Maneiras group, in the spaces of friends and partners, in the online stores… Anything goes to fill your Christmas stocking with good food, good drinks, good company and good memories. Release the reindeers: the party is about to begin!
It’s an advent calendar but, instead of chocolates or other miniature-sized gifts, the idea is to celebrate big time. Lisbon and the world (online) serve as the setting for this calendar where doors and windows open every day to share experiences, offers and surprises outside the box – but in beautiful packages.
Discounts on the restaurants’ vouchers, more or less familiar guests behind the bars, artistic events, online shopping at festive prices, a taste of Hell in Bistro’s kitchen and dining rooms, wine events, anniversaries, special holidays menus, offers and more offers…
There’s a little bit of everything in this 100 Maneiras’ Christmas made with friends to celebrate with friends, of course. Because Christmas is about family, friendship, togetherness, celebration, and that’s what this calendar is made of.
This month, we’ll have family and parties with a taste of home, at the Orthodox Christmas dinner with Ljubomir Stanisic, at Bistro, on the 5th, the return of some Bistro’s classic dishes on 3/12, Christmas reunions like that of Jorge Camilo and Daniel Zamith, historic bartenders of the group, who return together to Bistro’s counter, on a single night, on December 9th, for a very special guest shift and visits from friends like António Maçanita, who on 12/12 presents, at Bistro, his Enxarrama 2014, a wine that is a declaration of love for the ancient Alentejo. Or the gallery Because Art Matters, which on December 20 takes over the curatorship of Bistro’s walls with a set of pieces on display (and also available for purchase), with a listening session by Switchdance.
There will also be collaborations with beloved partners, such as Maria Portugal Terracota, a brand from the Portuguese company Villacer (responsible for Carnal’s handmade tableware), which is once again partnering with Carnal to offer all the cocktail glasses sold that night on December 19th. And special guest shifts at the Mexican gastrobar, like on Dec 16, when The Lost Explorer Mezcal brings Bernardo Rodrigues and three cocktails based on The Lost Explorer to Carnal’s bar.
And what Christmas doesn’t get hotter with a visit to Hell? Well, three Wednesdays in December will heat up at Bistro. We’ll bring to our kitchen and dining rooms former celebrity contestants from the show presented by Ljubomir Stanisic on SIC (like Cláudia Semedo, Luís Lourenço, Luísa Villar, Pedro Granger and Lourenço Ortigão, among others), proving that the road to Hell is paved with more than good intentions: on these dates, part of the value of the menus goes to Comunidade Vida e Paz, which serves people living on the streets or in situations of social vulnerability.
In addition to this, there will also be a special Hell menu, with some of the most beloved dishes from the program (all from Bistro’s menu), at devilishly good prices, to try on other dates – because if life lasts two days let us devour it entirely.
Is there more? Of course there is. But it’s an advent calendar and so we better keep something to discover. Promotions, offers and discounts in the restaurants, at chef Ljubomir’s online store and on Mestiço wines, events with art and music, unexpected pop-ups that convert Bistro into a wine cellar open to the public or a “burek shop” – we have it all. Special Santa Claus made in Yugoslavia included.
Every week, at 100 Maneiras website, the events of the following week are revealed – with daily reminders on the restaurants’ social media, so that nothing is lost, everything is created and Christmas is transformed into a huge celebration.
